Barbara always does so many cool things, somewhere between performance, theater and architectural intervention. She talks about it on Wednesday.

Barbara Ungepflegt lives and works in Vienna as a performance- and installation artist and artistic researcher.

In many of her works, she deals with in-between spaces and utopias, and with the oscillating interaction between being and illusion.

She is founder and director of the University Programme for Applied Dramaturgy, a postgraduate programme offered at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from 2017 to 2023.

In 2022, she completed her PhD (summa cum laude) in Applied Arts and Cultural Studies at the University of Art and Design Linz on the topic of ‘Exclusive Blank Spaces’. In addition, she is editor of the art magazine IMMERHIN / AFTER ALL and winner of the Dissident Goddesses Temple Prize (2019) in recognition of her office installation Büro Zimmer Frei.

Since 2010, Barbara Ungepflegt is presenting her installations, interventions, performances and lectures nationally and internationally.

She is member of the Institute of Strollology since 2023 and is founder of the Institute of Applied Pommology and Sausage Science.

In 2024, she founded and curated the festival Pommes 260 - Geräusche Bilder Fettiges at the takeaway at Erlaufsee (AT).

Most recently, she presented her performative installation WIENER WEINEN and BEAUTIII Klinik Ungepflegt
